Privacy, Analytics, and Data Use
Last updated: April 11th, 2025
Hello! I’m Amirul Menjeni, and this is a personal blog run just by me.
Privacy wise, if you’re reading my blog or subscribe to my newsletter, here’s what you should know:
What I Collect
When you sign up, I collect:
- Your email address (so I can send you updates)
- Your IP address (to help catch spam/bots and to get a rough idea of where subscribers are from)
- Info like whether you opened or clicked an email (so I know what kind of content people enjoy)
I use Listmonk (self-hosted on AWS) to manage the newsletter, and Amazon SES to send the emails.
Why I Collect It
- To send you blog updates and occasional notes
- To keep the list safe from fake signups and bots
- To better understand where readers are coming from (just roughly — I’m not tracking exact locations)
- To improve the content I send based on what people seem to like
Your Info Stays Private
I don’t sell or share your data with anyone else. Your info stays in my Listmonk setup, and emails are sent through Amazon SES.
Unsubscribing & Data Deletion
Every email includes an unsubscribe link. If you ever want to leave or have your data removed completely, just click that link or email me directly at hi@amenji.io.
Analytics
I use Plausible to understand how people use this site—like which pages are popular or what countries visitors come from.
Plausible is an open-source privacy-first analytics tool. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t track you across sites, and doesn’t collect any personal data. This allows me to get enough insights to improve my blog (and maybe writing!) without invading your privacy.
That’s It
If you have questions, feel free to reach out. Cheers.
